Description
Highly innovative mountaineering and climbing pack with the best strength-to-weight ratio on the market.
With its featherweight of less than 600g for 45L and extreme durability, the Alpine Hauler is the ultimate solution for modern alpine-style climbing. It has been designed to follow you up big faces and walls, where it can be hauled up difficult passages but where free climbing with the pack remains the main technique.

The entire pack has been built with ALUULA’s high-performance ultra-light composite fabric, reputed to be the new generation of composite materials. ALUULA’s UHMWPE offers a strength-to-weight ratio eight times that of steel, while being lighter than nylon, polyester and aramid. ALUULA is mono-material crafted with 100% polyethylene, making it recycle-ready.

The Alpine Hauler is the first pack in its class to benefit from this high-tech technology, giving it an incomparable level of technical performance. It also features a quick-release 3-point hauling system for quick and safe hauling. The shoulder straps are fully stashable to ensure smooth hoisting. It features an accessory pocket, accessible from both inside and outside the bag, ice tool holders and a roll-up closure for optimum protection against the most extreme weather conditions.

Favorite alpine climbing tool

This is the best all-around pack for technical climbing and alpinism that I have used in my life.

Both my partner and I used it on a big first ascent in the Himalayas. We hauled it on the ascent and it did not have any rips or damage. Pack was comfortable to carry while climbing but when loaded with 8 days of food and arctic camping kit for 7,000+ M peak, I would suggest getting some detachable, cushioned shoulder strap pads, IF you plan to do long approaches. Adding them fixed all comfort issues.

I also took it out on another long first ascent and couple difficult rock-climbing routes, where it was EXTENSIVELY hauled. Also did a 4-day backpacking trip with my wife, where I carried all of our food and group gear. VERY durable, super light, has all the features that are needed for alpine climbing.

I love that there is a clip in point on the bottom of the pack, so you can clip the second bag to the bottom and haul them together. Also love that internal pocket has a zipper on the bottom, so you can access different things you stash in there from both sides. I usually overload that pocket with different things I want to use throughout the day and find it to be a nice feature because I can have my snacks/electrolytes on top and sunscreen, headlamp, headphones and lip balm on the bottom.

Great alpine pack, but not a haulbag

You wish that this replaced your haulbag, but it does not. It is definitely more fragile than a haulbag. For occasional hauling, it's great, but it does break / get holes on rough rock (I've put a big crack in one, and a small hole in another, all within a few pitches of hauling). The pack is otherwise excellent besides two small issues: The roll top is not super practical as an opening system when the bag is hanging at the anchor, and grabbing it can open it (and you drop it), and the small biner that must be clipped into the front side of the pack before the bag is hauled is tricky to get in when the haul line is tight and you want to be quick.

Alpine Hauler

This pack is pure function and very versatile. The fabric seems to be indestructable but it`s a bit noisy.
