| mountain guide & technical adviserbasecamp: la Drôme
Manu Ibarra, supreme blue ice technical adviser and insanely passionate about icy conditions and frozen waterfalls.
Having spent thirty years in the business, twenty of them as mountain guide, Manu has developed a sound understanding of the alpine world and the needs of mountaineers. For this reason we rely on manu's advice and testing skills. As soon as our prototypes have passed the regular, critical, office check, we ship the project of the moment to the Drôme region, Manu’s delivery address. If there are still any changes to be done, that we have overseen, Manu won’t hesitate to tell us…This might be an angle to adjust, 3 mm to add somewhere, a fabric to reinforce or a buckle to add.
Equipped with rope, tools and iceaxes, Manu has been opening routes and made traverses a little bit everywhere. France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Scotland, Russia, Island, Canada, Colorado, Utah to name a few.
Wintertime, thanks to his reputation as ice expert, he is frequently invited to events and workshops to share his knowledge and expertise with the growing community of ice climbers.
