Nothing leaves the Blue Ice design lab without the absolute approval of Ire’s left hand. Ire*, or Irene Marcotti, lead designer at Blue ice, with an eye for details and a mind for technical solutions.

Multitalented designer & photographer, from the busy city of Milan, with a degree of industrial design and with a history of residence going from Italy, to Finland, to Argentina, back to Milan and then finally to Chamonix… from walking the fashionable streets of Milan to enjoying a warm, comfortable life in fleece. Today she is settled with a view on the mt blanc, with a foot and a part of her heart in South America and forever with a Milanese taste for style and details. (Blue Ice made a good catch here, wouldn’t you say?)

Irene’s absolute sense for design and material in combination with her understanding for the needs in outdoor equipment takes the Blue Ice gear where they are. And, after years of tying into ropes, hiking around with ice axes, snowboarding or skiing in various terrains, it is no wonder that she has a natural feeling for alpinist gear.
