Dante Rodolfo Alegria is our most exotic team member, a strong climber, skier and an alpinist in every sense. Or, to be more correct, andinista, since he is born and based in Bariloche, Argentina, in a part of the world that the most of us only get to dream about.
Being a professional mountain guide for the Argentinian Mountain Federation, Dante spends most of his time in the Andes mountain range. At peak season he is mostly set up in El Chaltén, Patagonia, famous for its access to the legendary summits of Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy. The remaining of the year he goes north, up to the Mendoza region and the Aconcagua, to guide his clients up on the highest peak in the Americas. It is also not impossible that he leaves the country for an expedition to Peru or Bolivia. I'd go anywhere he says ...as long as there are bonitas montañas involved...
We are still waiting for the day when we will have the pleasure to show him our favorite spots, but with so many climbs on the schedule, we might just have to change our plan and join him over there. Wouldn't really mind would we...
